Here is a summary of what we know.

  • October SNAP benefits were funded prior to the shutdown and have been or will be issued on their normal schedule.
  • November SNAP benefits require the federal government to approve and disburse funds to states, and for the USDA to instruct states to submit electronic files to our EBT vendor by a critical deadline in mid-October.

What This Means for You

Scenario #1
If the government reopens and passes funding this week

Impact on November 2025 SNAP Benefits
Benefits should be issued as quickly as possible, potentially on time or with a minor delay to your usual disbursement date.

Scenario #2
If the government shutdown continues beyond October

Impact on November 2025 SNAP Benefits
Your November SNAP benefits will be delayed or may not be issued at all. Our agency has been instructed to prepare for a lack of federal funding and a potential lapse in state authorization to process payments.
