As the holiday season approaches, people across the United States pause to celebrate moments of gratitude and reflection. For many in public service, this season is not just a time for gathering. It is an opportunity to consider the meaning of service itself and the conditions that allow people to give their best to the communities they represent.
In every agency, school district, county office, federal bureau, and municipal department, thousands of public servants continue to show up day after day because they believe their work matters. When the environment around them is psychologically safe, supportive, and grounded in professional integrity, their service becomes more than a task. It becomes a contribution to the collective well being of the American people.
