Abigail Spanberger wins big in Spotsylvania and across Virginia

Abigail Spanberger won last night statewide including Spotsylvania County to become the 75th  Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Abigail thanked her entire family for allowing to run. She commented her husband was the one who had the responsibility to tell their 3 children that their Mom had  been elected Governor.

She went and talked about the significance of being the first female elected to this high office in Virginia.  She praised the women who tried to run for statewide office before including Democrat Mary Sue Terry who ran for LT Governor.

She thanked LT Governor Winsome Earle-Sears for running a good race.
She also honored her for her years of service in the United States Marine Corps. To the voters who did not vote for her she said “I am going to be the Governor for all Virginians”.

The Results of last night’s election for Governor.

According to the Virginia Boad of Elections Governor Elect Spanberger (D) won statewide 57.14 % to Earle-Sears (R) 42.66%.

That was 1,920,709 votes to 1,433,780 votes cast. All 2,533 precincts reporting 0 early votes left.

According to vpap.org Spanberger beat Earle-Sears in Spotsylvania County    51.10 % to 48.72. Spanberger got 30,145 votes to Earl- Sears getting 28,757 votes.
