1. Why are you running?

I have always loved serving my community. I enjoy engaging with my fellow citizens and having a positive impact on our daily lives. I have the experience, talent, time and passion for serving another term as the Lee Hill representative on the Board of Supervisors.

2. What are the top three issues you want to address in office?

Managing Growth and ensuring we do not stress infrastructure when development occurs, Proper and responsible siting of industrial uses such as data centers so existing residential is not impacted, maintain my record of being fiscally responsible while funding essential services Schools, Fire/Rescue and Law Enforcement.

3. What is the number 1 issue on the minds of voters in Spotsylvania County? Data Centers and their potential impacts.

4. What problems are you noticing in the county due to the Federal Government Shutdown?

We are just beginning to see the impact of the shutdown (SNAP Benefits) We will need to address this gap if the shutdown continues.

5. How should we improve education in County?

We have made great strides in funding during my term on the board. I believe we need to continue to work collaboratively with the School Board as well as with our legislators to encourage the General Assembly implement the suggestions the JLARC K-12 study put forth.

6. How can the County and or the State improve Mental Health Services?

The RACSB will be standing up a Crisis Receiving Center which will be charged with addressing gaps in our mental health services. This will be a regional facility that will hopefully minimize the need for hospitalizations and increase access.

7. How can we improve funding for Special Education and English Language Learners?

As a Supervisor, I will work with the School Board to find solutions however, I believe we must advocate on the state level for funding.

8. What can we as a County do to create affordable housing for our Teachers, Police, Firefighters, first responders, and health care workers?

This issue is not only a problem for Spotsylvania but a regional, state and national issue. I look to the Regional Housing Assembly to provide us with realistic suggestions to address affordable housing.

9. Is there anything else the voters should know about you? I have kept the promises I made during my first campaign. My voting record shows my commitment to a managed growth philosophy, practicing fiscal responsibility and ensuring essential services are not compromised. I have also represented the citizens on multiple regional/state boards and commissions. My service on these boards and commissions bring added value to the citizens as I advocate for all of Spotsylvanians. It is an honor to serve and I respectfully ask for your vote.
