1. Why are you running?

Because the school board members with political endorsements refuse to work together which has negatively impacted my child and so many other kids here in the county. This is why I am the only candidate who has promised in writing:

1. To not meet with the organizations that endorse local candidates.

2. Self fund my campaign (not accept money from any source)3. To never run for any office besides school board.
These promises show my only loyalty is to the kids and families here in Spotsylvania

2. What are the top three issues you want to address in office?

Special needs compliance Staff pay and morale Opportunities for career training and gifted programs

3. What is the number 1 issue on the minds of voters in Spotsylvania County? (I am answering this question based on the office I am running for)

The lack of civility and functionality on our school board

4. What problems are you noticing in the county due to the Federal Government Shutdown?

The instability of family income

5. How should we improve education in County?

We need to improve the relationships between school admin and staff along with schools and the families.

6. How can the County and or the State improve Mental Health Services?

We are not anywhere close to compliance for staffing levels of school social workers and counselors. That needs to change.

7. How can we improve funding for Special Education and English Language Learners?

We are spending ridiculous amounts of money paying high priced Richmond lawyers to avoid providing necessary services to our kids even after rulings from the Virginia Department of Education. We need to relook at this decision process. We also need to create a higher pay scale for our special needs staff since this is our highest level of difficulty in recruitment and retention.

8. What can we as a County do to create affordable housing for our Teachers, Police, Firefighters, first responders, and health care workers?

Partner with local developers to create affordable housing, similar to what’s in the planning phases now with Tricord for affordable housing with a priority to first responders and county staff.

9. Is there anything else the voters should know about you?

I am the only candidate who had been actively advocating specifically for Spotsylvania Schools for most of my life. If you look at my history, you will see documented advocacy for our students for over 25 years. Additionally, I have a son who graduated the system here and one still in.
