Fall fun arrives across Spotsylvania County this weekend, with farmers markets, harvest festivals, Halloween scares and family programs at Lake Anna State Park.
FRIDAY, OCT. 2
BELVEDERE PLANTATION HARVEST FESTIVAL
10 a.m.–2 p.m. and 6–10 p.m.

The annual fall festival continues with the Great Adventure Maize Maze, wagon rides, farm attractions, children’s activities, food and seasonal fun.
THE HAUNTED HILL
7:30–10:30 p.m.

The seasonal haunted attraction takes visitors by haywagon into the woods before sending them through nearly a mile of scares, mazes and Halloween surprises. Organizers do not recommend the attraction for children under 12.

BELVEDERE PLANTATION HARVEST FESTIVAL

Saturday brings a full day of fall activities at Belvedere, including the pumpkin patch, corn maze, wagon rides and numerous family attractions. Belvedere also schedules fireworks at 8 p.m. on Saturdays in October.
MILLER FARMS MARKET FALL FESTIVAL
Beginning at 10 a.m.

Miller Farms Market kicks off its Saturday October fall festival series with pumpkin picking, hayrides, a corn maze, food trucks, local vendors, photo opportunities, ice cream and family activities.

The second annual Gratitude Market will feature animal rescues, nonprofit organizations, wellness businesses, artists, makers and other community groups. Admission is free.

The Haunted Hill returns Saturday evening for another night of its outdoor haunted trail and haywagon experience.

The Sunday market brings another opportunity to shop from local farmers and producers for produce, meats, baked goods and handmade products.

Visitors can meet some of Lake Anna State Park’s animal ambassadors while learning about Virginia reptiles, snake safety and their role in the environment. The program is free, although standard park parking and admission fees apply. Children under 18 must be supervised by an adult.
OWL PROWL: PARK AFTER DARK
6–8 p.m.

Join a park ranger for an evening walk focused on the owls of Lake Anna State Park. The family-friendly program includes a short hike along a paved trail and opportunities to call for owls and listen for responses.
