County offices and facilities closed Monday; refuse facilities also closed for holiday

SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. — Spotsylvania County Government offices will close at noon Friday, Sept. 4, ahead of the Labor Day holiday weekend.

The early Friday closure applies to county government offices, but not residential refuse centers, which will continue operating according to their normal Friday schedules.

On Monday, Sept. 7, county offices and facilities will be closed for Labor Day. Spotsylvania County’s residential refuse centers and other county refuse facilities also observe Labor Day as a holiday closure.

The Spotsylvania Visitors Center and Museum is an exception to the countywide Monday closure and is scheduled to operate during its normal hours.

Residents should also note an important change for Tuesday, Sept. 8: county refuse facilities that ordinarily would be affected by the regular Tuesday schedule will be open because of the Labor Day holiday schedule, according to information provided by Spotsylvania County Government.

County government operations will otherwise resume following the holiday.

Residents who need to conduct business with a county department are encouraged to plan around Friday’s noon closing and Monday’s Labor Day closure.
