New Sunday Farmers Market Gives Spotsylvania Shoppers Another Local Option

by John Williams, Editor Spotsylvania Gazette

SPOTSYLVANIA, Va. — Fresh produce, baked goods and locally made products are available on Sundays at the new Spotsylvania Farmers Market at Spotsylvania High School.

The Sunday market launched in 2026 and is held in the school’s parking lot at 6975 Courthouse Road from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The 2026 season is scheduled to run through Dec. 20, according to Spotsylvania County.

The market is the newest of three weekly locations operated by the Spotsylvania Farmers Market. According to the county, more than 40 vendors participate, including local farms, nurseries, bakeries, meat and seafood producers, and specialty-food businesses.

As a producer-only marketplace, the market features products grown, raised or made by the vendors who sell them. Shoppers can find seasonal produce, meats, baked goods and handmade items while purchasing directly from local producers.

The Sunday market gives residents another opportunity to support area farmers and small businesses while adding a weekend shopping option to the county’s farmers market schedule.

The market accepts cash, major credit cards and SNAP benefits, according to the county.

The Saturday market continues at the Route 3/Gordon Road commuter lot, while the Wednesday market operates in the Spotsylvania Courthouse area.
