Major Fire at Pick-A-Part in Spotsylvania Involves More Than 100 Vehicles
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. — A major fire broke out early Monday morning at the Pick-A-Part auto salvage yard on Patriot Highway in Spotsylvania County, involving more than 100 vehicles.
The Spotsylvania Emergency Communications Center received a report of the fire shortly after 4 a.m. Fire and Rescue crews arrived approximately eight minutes later and encountered a significant blaze spreading through vehicles at the salvage yard.
More than 30 firefighters and rescue personnel remained at the scene Monday morning as crews worked to extinguish remaining flames and conduct overhaul operations.
Officials reported no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
The cause of the fire has not been determined and remains under investigation.
The Pick-A-Part facility is located at 9001 Patriot Highway, in the Fredericksburg-Spotsylvania area. The yard is a self-service and full-service used auto-parts and vehicle-recycling operation.
Authorities have not yet released information regarding the extent of damage to the business or when normal operations may resume.
