By John Williams, Editor, The Spotsylvania Gazette

Last month, The Spotsylvania Gazette named Hub of Hope it‘s Charity of Choice.

Hub of Hope (Helping Others Eat) is a nonprofit organization in the Fredericksburg region that helps fight food insecurity. Founded during the COVID Pandemic by Deedre and Trenton Stinson they have served over a million nutritious meals to families no questions asked.

Here is a list of the key services and programs they provide.

· FOOD2GO: Provides nutritious meals to children, seniors, and families, including menu design and quality control for childcare centers in collaboration with USDA and VDH.

· CACFP Program: Partners with local childcare providers (serving 25% or more low-income students) to offer improved, nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snack menus at no cost to children.

· Community Outreach & Meal Distribution: Organizes large-scale, holiday-specific food distributions (e.g., Thanksgiving meal boxes).

· Summer Food Program: Collaborates with the Central Rappahannock Regional Library to provide free, nutritious lunches for children and teens during the summer.
