Several Northern Virginia athletes are competing in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina, Italy (Feb 6–22), including figure skater Ilia Malinin (Vienna), skeleton racer Mystique Ro(Nokesville/Brentsville), speedskater Brandon Kim (Fairfax), and Paralympic sled hockey player Evan Nichols (Haymarket).
- Ilia Malinin (Vienna): The "QuadGod" is competing in his first Olympics in men's singles figure skating.
- Mystique Ro (Nokesville): A former track athlete, she makes her debut in skeleton after winning medals at the 2025 World Championships.
- Brandon Kim (Fairfax): A Stanford student, he is competing in short track speedskating, having recently broken a 13-year-old national record.
- Evan Nichols (Haymarket): A Battlefield High School graduate, he competes for the U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team, seeking another gold after his 2022 debut.
