The Inauguration of 75th Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia Abigail Davis Spanberger

After her victory on Election night and the Transition from Governor Youngkin to Governor Elect Spanberger , the time has come,  for the 75th Governor  of Commonwealth of Virginia to take the Oath of Office on  her Grandmother’s Bible at 12 Noon on the steps of the historic Virginia Capitol Building. 

LT Governor Elect Ghazal Hashmi  and Attorney General Elect Jay Jones will be sworn in before her. 

Abigail will become Virginia’s very first female Governor. Previously she served the people of the 7th Congressional District from 2016 to 2024 as their first Congresswoman. Previously to that she was an Analyst in the CIA and started out as a Postal Inspector.  A Graduate of the University of VA. She is married to her husband Adam Spanberger and Mother to their three daughters. 

The Spotsylvania Gazette and myself will be covering the Swearing in Ceremony and the Parade. Saturday and Sunday’s editions will feature a pictures from the day’s festivities.
