New Years Greetings from Governor Elect Spanberger

RICHMOND, Va. — Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger today released the following statement marking New Year’s 2026.

“In 2025, Virginians made sure their voices were heard. Across our Commonwealth, Virginians chose leaders focused not on partisanship, but on the issues that matter most — strengthening our economy, keeping our communities safe, and making life more affordable.

“That work begins right away in 2026. Starting on January 17, my administration will work tirelessly to put Virginia first — from the Shenandoah Valley to the Eastern Shore. I am forever grateful to my fellow Virginians for entrusting me with this honor and responsibility.

“I look forward to all we will accomplish together as we unite for Virginia’s future. From my family to yours, I wish all Virginians a safe, healthy, and Happy New Year.”
