Bryce Reeves drops Senate bid in Virginia

On Sunday, according to a variety of sources,  State Senator Bryce Reeves (R VA Senate District 28) withdrew from the race to replace incumbent US Senator Mark Warner (D-VA). Citing family health issues and the victory in November by Governor Elect Abigail Spanberger and the Democrats picking up seats in the. VA House of Delegates he  felt this was not a good time for him to run. He is instead going to spend his energy to get reelected to another 4 yr term in his district. 

Senator Mark Warner has already declared he is running for another 6 year term.  He has in recent weeks gotten endorsements from most of the Virginia Democratic lawmakers including Governor Elect Abigail Spanberger.

Mark Warner was first elected to the US Senate in 2008.  Recently he has been very vocal concerning a number of domestic and international issues President Trump has supported. 

Without Bryce Reeves in the race there is only one other Republican so far running newcomer Kim Farington from Northern VA. On the Democratic side there are two candidates, Dr Loretta Daniels who serves currently on the Spotsylvania County School Board and
